From April 14th on, it is no longer allowed for online gamblers in the UK, to play online and pay with credit card. The Gambling Commission in Great Britain, is the first country that has announced this ban.
The ban, that followed the Commission’s review of online gambling and the Government’s Review of Gaming Machines and Social Responsibility Measures for now only apply to the UK. Deeper research undertaken by several parties are showing that in total 800.000 people use their creditcard for depositsin online gambling. The biggest reason for this ban to complete is actually, based on 23% of that group of 800.000 people that are classed as “problem gamblers”. With this creditcard ban they try to protect that group of people for using their creditcard while already spend too much in online gaming.

The ban – which for now only affects Great Britain (UK) – will apply to all online and offline gambling products except for lotteries. Find left an overview of last year spend in online and offline betting.
